getting to the hotel
Link Rd is easily accessed by both road and rail. wherever you're coming from and whatever your preferred method of transport, there should be something to suit your needs:
NB. We highly recommend you download our hotel directions. It includes all necessary information including
directions to the hotel written in English and in Hindi, especially relevant for those taking a taxi.
if you are coming from Delhi Airport, there are a few options
the safest and easiest way to travel is with our own airport pick-up service, which can be booked online at the time of reservation. we try to price this service very fairly, so you can have a hassle free transfer straight to the hotel at a good price. journey time is normally 45 minutes. don't forget to reserve your pick-up whilst booking online.
this is by far the most economical way to travel. the airport express train will take you from the airport to new delhi railway station in 20 minutes and for only 80 rupees (last time we checked). from the railway station you will need to purchase a seperate metro ticket to jangpura. you will take the yellow line towards huda city centre and change lines at central secretariat to the purple line towards badarpur. total journey time will be about 60 minutes. why not see your route on the metro map here.
if you are taking a taxi please be careful. India is generally safe but like any city there are the good guys and the bad guys. two types of taxi service operate from the airport:
Meru Cabs and Mega Cabs are private, radio controlled taxi services. although more expensive, they are regulated, metered and air conditioned taxis. they are the safest taxi's to travel with and their cars are generally in better condition. you will find them just outside of the arrivals hall. expect the trip to cost at least 650 rupees.
the goverment pre-paid taxi stand is the other taxi option. prices are fixed and there is no haggling to be done. prices do vary depending on persons and luggage but expect it to cost 450 rupees for one person with a large suitcase.
You MUST mention the hotel is OPPOSITE JANGPURA METRO STATION. the road is called Link Road but there are several of these in Delhi, so be specific that you want to go to Link Road at JANGPURA EXTENSION.
WARNING: some taxi drivers are paid commission to take unsuspecting guests to the wrong hotel. to make sure you find us safely the first time round, we urge you to keep a copy of our hotel directions with you and be sure to call us if you have any hesitation whatsoever. do NOT let the taxi driver dial the number, they will only call their friend who will tell you the hotel is closed for whatever reason. if at all you feel threatened in any way, mention you have the cab registration number and you will report the driver to the police, this normally stops them.

from the railway station you will need to purchase a metro ticket to jangpura. you will take the yellow line towards huda city centre and change lines at central secretariat to the purple line towards badarpur. total journey time will be 25 minutes. the cost is about 20 rupees.
there will be plenty of auto rickshaws waiting as you exit the station. if you are not familiar with rickshaws there is nothing to fear, just bargain hard over the cost of the ride. from the railway station to the hotel it should cost no more than 100 rupees (even for a tourist). if you don't like the attitude of the driver then try another. journey time is roughly 20 minutes but will vary in traffic.
the most expensive and most comfortable option is taxi. the expected journey time is about 20 minutes and the cost will be negotiable. anything under 200 rupees is a reasonable rate.
